Example: Commented game in many formats
These examples illustrates practical use of GOWrite in publication creation. You may want to experiment with example file to tune export. Example SGF file also uses many features practical in publication work. I did make few export samples with 2.1 version. These have been updated using 2.1.09 while...

GOWrite now freeware
GOWrite 1 and 2 are now freeware.
I have decided to make GOWrite freeware for benefit of go community.
Some of license texts might not yet reflect this, I will be changing texts as I update other things.
regards
Lauri

Bug in Mac GOWrite 2.1.20
Ko marking text is not visible in Mac 10.3 / Java 1.4.2. For example ko marking (123) at (23) is shown without text "at", while both moves are shown normally.
Problem may be bug in Mac Java, I am currently looking for work-around.
regards
Lauri

What are good fonts for GOWrite 2 board?
GOWrite 2 allows changes to board fonts. Move numbers above 100 are somewhat difficult to produce in well-readable way. Light and condensed (or ultra condensed) fonts tend to produce best results. However GOWrite 2 does not include such font, as such high quality font is not available freely. Window...

Printing: Print (or export) game in multiple diagrams?
Start by dividing game into desired number of diagrams. GOWrite 2.2 (and later) Open file and use command File->Print & export wizard . This prepares SGF file for printing or exporting. After this do File->Print and select "All diagrams in game". Alternatively you can export using File...

SGF files: Exchaning SGF with other programs
Stone numbers behave strangely Some programs put stones numbers as text labels (like "123") for diagram. This can be confusing, as those numbers do not obey diagram start and other related settings. Editing them is thus fully manual work. If you have this kind of file, you can set GOWrite...

SGF files: Text in SGF file is not readable
If SGF text is not readable, problem is probably in unrecognized character set. Character set defines what (kinds of) characters can be stored in file. If text is show as squares, problem is likely to be lack of proper fonts. Installing suitable fonts for language should solve problem. GOWrite 2 ver...

Installation: Installing both 1.4 and 2.0 GOWrite versions
If you want to install both GOWrite versions, you should note following: In Windows only one program can be associated with file extension SGF. Thus either GOWrite 1.4 or GOWrite 2 will be used when opening SGF files. During both GOWrite 1.4 and 2.0 installation you have possibility to select if pro...

Installation: Using multiple SGF editors
When multiple SGF editor are installed, all SGF files are opened by one of them (in most platforms). If you are using several SGF editors, you may want to use GOWrite 2 private file type for GOWrite 2 SGF files. In order to enable Netscape to recognize these files, please use following information: ...

Clipboard: Poor quality when pasting graphics to application
In most platforms clipboard can transfer only bitmap graphics or text. Available clipboard formats can be seen in Options -> Cliboard Graphics In Windows cliboard can use WMF format, which is good for publication work. In all platforms EPS or SVG graphics formats can be used with File->Export command.
