Download Links Not Working Anymore?

Post by psygo »

I'm trying to download GoWrite on the website these days but clicking on the links doesn't seem to do anything. Has anyone had any success? Is there a mirror to it somewhere?

If it goes back up again, I'm gonna download everything and create a backup. Otherwise, I might start something with HTML <canvas> on GIthub at some point.

Hi,

What links are you referring to?
At least the links in download page (https://gowrite.net/GOWrite2_download.html) are working for me.

Yes, I'm trying the links on this page: https://gowrite.net/GOWrite2_download.html

For some reason, I have to copy the link address and then paste it on a new tab for the download to start, I don't know why (I'm using Chrome). And this is happening both on my Mac M2 as well as my Arch Linux machines (and I still need to say "keep the file" upon download).

Despite the weirdness, I think you can also close this issue, it's the same thing, I believe: viewtopic.php?p=4917#p4917

Found the reason: Some of the links were still http: (not https:). Recent chrome versions refuses attempts to download anything from http, if page is downloaded using https. So those links with http did not work in chrome.

This should be now fixed; but it is quite likely that http links are still lingering somewhere.

If one suspects this problem, opening developer console can clarify it. chrome prints explanation to developer console.
