GOWrite 2 Installation

GOWrite 2 Requirements
GOWrite 2 needs Java runtime environment (JRE, version 1.5 or
later), to be present. Sun offers Windows JRE for free. In 64bit Windows GOWrite 2 requires 64bit java JRE (after
version 2.3.31).
Please note that 1.3.x or earlier runtime can not be used. 1.4 can be used only with old GOWrite 2.2 and earlier.
GOWrite 2 requires at least
- Pentium II processor running at 1GHz (or similar).
- Normal memory required by operating system.
- Screen resolution 800x600 for basic use. For publication use 1024x800 is recommented.
GOWrite 2 and its installation program should be possible to use in
- Windows 95 / 98 / ME
- Windows NT4.0 / 2000 / XP (using x86 processor)
Starting from GOWrite 2 version 2.3, only Windows 2000, X, vista, W7 and later work with GOWrite2.
It should be noted that old machines (likely to run Windows 95) may be
rather slow for GOWrite 2 use.
Note also that international support depends on locale of installed Windows.
In 2000, XP, Vista and W7 it is possible to install international support,
but it is not installed as standard.
Tested platforms
GOWrite 2.3 has been tested with Windows 2000, XP and vista using JRE 1.5.0 and 1.6.0 using 32bit Java JRE.
GOWrite 2.3 has been tested with 64bit Windows 7 using using 64bit Java JRE.
GOWrite 2.2 has been tested in Windows 98 and in Windows 2000 using JRE version 1.4.2 and 1.5.0.
